Hi there.
I was wondering if someone could help. CorelDraw X5 crashes for reasons I just can't get a handle on. There are crashes that I get but I'm wise to X5 and usually get around it. However, I get crashes (usually four or five a week) that simply don't add up. I don't know where else to turn and this is my livelihood. The frustration ranges from moderate to huge depending on client expectations, deadlines, how much I might've lost, etc.
Where would be the best place to report the below? It's the details from the crash... I think. I copied it from the pop-up dialogue.
Thanks in advance as always,
Mike.
ps. please keep in mind that it's happening on a fresh install (just two weeks ago) and happened before that too. Windows 7 64-bit, 8GB RAM and good quality hardware inside.

Hello Mike; I have never used X5, but most ver. work the same way, Try Deleting your temp files, and keep your fonts in Windows/Fonts dir. around 400 ( use Font Nav, that comes with Corel.) Set your virtual memory as high as possible. That should help.
George
All done. Virtual Memory bumped up to a consistent 12GB but Coreldraw never takes up too much memory for the designs I work on. Not sure I've even seen it hit a Gig or so.
I just don't like the randomness of such crashes. Across three different installs (of PCs) I've had it crash numerous times when I just 'right click' the screen, choose Document Properties and want to inspect things in there.
Thanks for getting back to me. Additionally, hopefully someone might be able to tell me what's going on with the info I pasted. All "foreign" to me as a non-programmer, etc.
Probably the only one that would mean anything to anybody other than Corel and Microsoft is Fault Module Name: MSVCR90.dll
This identifies the fault as occurring in Microsoft Visual C Runtime, so its possible that the problem is actually a microsoft fault rather than a Corel fault (though not completely conclusive, because CorelDraw could possibly have passed improper parameters to the VC routine).
But it probably does not help a lot, because you have the latest updates to X5 and there does not seem to be an available update for MSVCR90.dll.
Experimentally, many of us have found that we get crashes a lot less frequently by regularly deleting the tempfiles folder and by reducing the number of installed fonts. But in cases where these do not help, some users have eventually determined that the fault was with the computer -- perhaps inappropriately overclocked, overheating due to blocked vents or inefficient fans or memory that needs carefully reseating (with the power off).
Hi, Harry.
Many thanks for the reply. I'll try to stay on top of the temp folder being as empty as I can keep it and see how it goes.
With regards to temperatures, hardware, etc. I'm a stickler for not "ragging" my hardware and overclocking the hell out of it. Equally, I like a quiet PC so I buy very good quality fans and have a genuinely good flowthrough of air. Also, squirty cans of air just in case the thing needs a clean once in a while. I'm pretty well behaved with that sort of thing.
Fingers crossed the temp folder helps a lot.
