Save as Corel Draw version 4

Hello,
I have Corel Draw X5 and I have one question if someone can help me. One of my clients needs file to be saved as Corel 4 version (not X4 but 4, old one I know ;-) )His engraving machine can import only Corel Draw 4 files!? Is there any way in X5 to save file as version 4?

If X5 the X5 "save as" dropdown does not go back as far as v4, you would need to save back to another version (eg v11) and then find somebody with v11 to open the file in that version and save it back to v4.

Doing that would be a nuisance and doubles the potential for degrading the information. A better answer would be to find another format that the engraver will accept -- postscript level 2 perhaps -- and export to that.

As I know, only CorelDraw 4 and 5 have option to save as version 4 and these software is really old (about 20 years) so I believe that it will be big problem to run it on today OS. I was wondering if there is some plug-in or something that can emulate Corel Draw version 4 files. This files I work on are not too complicated, just lines for engraving, so it would be no problem about degrading information.

Hello Sheneymac; I don't know of any software that used CDR files back then. What program is he using? Back in the 90's we had to use Ai or EPS files from draw. There cutting program probably won't use the newer Ai & EPS files of today. Get him to send a simple file that he uses to cut with from his ver. of Corel and post it so we can look at it for you.
