Pantone Colors Converted To CMYK values on PDF / EPS Export??? HELP!

Hello All,

I have scrubbed this forum and the entirety of the internet and I can't fix this problem after over a year. I have tried both PDF, EPS export dialogues as well as printing to Adobe Acrobat and I can not output any Pantone color. They are always converted to CMYK or RGB values (depending on my conversion settings) no matter what method or settings I try. I know that it's possible as I have imported supplied corporate PDFs and extracted Pantone values from them. In my mind and from everything that I've read it should be just as simple as "Output colors as native". I even tried the same through Illustrator and get the same results so it seems like a global issue on my pc. Where am I going wrong?

Attached are captures of my document and eps export settings. PDF settings captures would fill the page so I haven't included them. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What is your X5 version? (Help-About Corel Draw)

Works fine here (With all service packs + hot fix installed. i.e. version 15.2.0.695)

Thanks for such a fast reply.

The version is 15.2.0.695 Man that is odd... I just called my wife who works in another city/shop and uses x6, walked her through the same export settings and she gets the same results. Perhaps some sort of conflict with other software. We both operate sign shops and have a mix of design software installed including Cadlink, Illustrator, Photoshop (pretty much the entire Adobe suite), etc.

Just to be clear, we're exporting a file with Pantone colors, then drag and dropping them back into Corel to check the properties at which time it shows as CMYK. I wasn't even aware of the problem until I was informed after I sent a file to another print shop. Amazingly the CMYK color isn't visibly discernible (on the monitor) from the Pantone when placed overlapped and beside each other but still...

Use Acrobat to check color, never an imported PDF. Not that the result may be different, I dunno. But you really need to use Acrobat for checking the color.

Consider uploading a CDR and PDF you do not believe has the spot color in it to dropbox.com if it is over the forum limit. Just throw a rectangle on the page, color it a Pantone Spot--but not one of the Bridge or other CMYK Pantone colors--and ZIP up the CDR and PDF.

You should be able to use PDF export start with press setting NATIVE color. Please post screen captures.

OMG... I was choosing from the wrong Pantone pallet. After all this time it's been the Bridge pallets are the problem. The spot GOE Pantone colors did the trick. I can't even begin to tell you how much time I've wasted. Thanks a million!
