My post Why does Corel Draw Graphics Suite X5 feel more like beta software? explains everything im having an issue with X5. In an effort to log the issues with this software, Im asking that if your an X5 User and are having file corruption, crashes, freezes and other such fun stuff happening to you killing your time and money while in Draw or Photopaint, please post it here.
In order to keep it all clean and easy for someone at Corel to follow, please only list issues for X5 and not turn it into a discussion out of topic.
Please, there is no need to try to defend Corel here as Iv used Corel since version 4 (not X4), so thats a long time using it.
Mirroring and Scaling doesn't work properly (using the Buttons in the Toolbar) after deactivating DelayLoadVBA.
1) We start Corel with a factory Reset.
2) We deactivate DelayLoadVBA (in Options)
3) We create a new Rectangle
4) We rotate the rectangle.
5) The rectangle is resized (with ratio lock)
6) If I now try to mirror the rectangle or resize it again, nothing happens.
If i set the rotation to zero, and then try to resize it will work. Mirroring will work again after i apply a new rotation (until i resize the object again).
Kind regards,
Kai Niklas
Hi. I'm having a small problem with CorelDraw X5, maybe someone here can advise me on how to fix it. When I choose a tool like the brush, the dropdown list on the property bar where you're supposed to see the previews of the available brushes, doesn't work right. Obviously it's called a dropDOWN list, because it drops down, so you can see the list and scroll through it. Only mine opens upwards for some reason. I can only see the last couple of brushes in the box and obviously I can't scroll normally either, because I can't see the entire scroll bar. Why is it opening the wrong direction and what can I do to fix it?
Thanks in advance!

Hello Something... Welcome to the forum.
First, do you know that you are continuing a discussion thread that was started four years ago? If you started a new thread, you would probably have three times as many responses to your query as opposed to continuing an old thread. (Just my two cents....)
Have you tried the F8 reset to factory defaults? To do so, close DRAW. Press and hold down the F8 key and start DRAW. A dialog box should appear, asking if you wish to set your desktop to the factory defaults, answer "Yes".
Note that this action will also reset any customization that you have made to your desktop, but it should restore normality to the drop-boxes.
Let us know if this has fixed your problem or not. If this did not fix your problem, then we could take it to the next level.
No, I didn't notice it was an old thread. I guess I assumed that an official forum for such a popular product is well organised, meaning there's one official thread for main problems. I just took a look at how many pages it had and figured it must be the thread I need.
I just tried resetting to factory defaults and nothing changed.
Don't worry, if it's your first time here is logical that you don't know how it works. Most people believe that the "Chat" section is on online help for 24 support, but it's only section for talk between users. And about "official thread for main problems" the answer is not, there's not such thing. The company has a databse for known errors, of course. but this post was started by an user like you, anyway the CorelDRAW team read the forum and helps if it's needed
I suggest you to start a new thread with your problem, since each problem is discussed individually
