Hello, am using corel draw x5
i am currently giving my PC to my friend and i wanted to remove my license from windows, as i remove Corel Draw from system (including user files & stuff at uninstall option). i can remove corel successfully but cant remove license properly :-/
coz whenever that person is reinstalling corel & giving any serial of his Corel just dont need activation & starts instantly with full privileges.
is there any way to complete activated license removal ? i couldn't found that anywhere on web.
P.S i've checked it myself > uninstalled corel > restarted computer > reinstalled corel > it only requires Serial NOT activation :-(
hope am not doing something wrong coz am just following simple uninstall procedure as a normal user should.

As far as I know Corel has never required activation. Serial number yes, 'activation' no.
Designer 12 requires online activation. Under the Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 PSIService Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Protexis Licensing service. Also Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI uses it.

Well I am aware of the Protexis Licensing service. But I think of activation as a process, like with Adobe or Swish, where you must actually perform steps to activate the app and it's tied to a hardware key or something like that. I never had to do that or anything like it with any of my CorelDraw programs, or Painter 10 either. Now, if Protexis is validating the serial # or something I don't think that's quite the same thing. IMO it's a difference between validation and activation, and I'm pretty sure there is nothing to 'deactivate'.
It would be nice to hear from Corel more detail on this.
Yup it's something related to Protexis Licensing Service. i also turned & disable service it off but still not luck.
yea !! i remember i had activated it over phone and now if i uninstall and reinstall it's not asking any activation on it. and i don't want to let someone using corel over my license.
LMAO ---> reinstalling windows is not a solution. that's the last thing on earth to do. there should be a proper way.
If you are certain that no applications using PSIService are still installed on your system, and this service is still running, you can remove it manually by following these instructions:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ProtexisLicensing]
%windir%\System32\PSIService.exe %windir%\System32\PSIKey.exe
Of course, in order to keep applications such as Corel Photo Shop Pro continue running without error, the complete removal instructions cannot be followed. Use the following workaround instead:
If the Protexis DRM softare installed on your system is of version 2, follow these steps instead:
Now, Protexis Licensing Service is tamed and disabled properly so that PSIService no longer run in background, without affecting functionality of installed application.
In my case it was Designer 12 not Paint Shop Pro Photo x2.
