how to use nudge

I may be completely wrong, but to me, nudge is when you move an object by an amout that is set in the options menu. i.e. You select an object, then use the up/down/left/right arrow keys on the keyboard to move it by that amount each key press. I use an old version - CorelDRAW 5 - and every time I open CorelDRAW that setting has reset back to 2.54 for some reason. So I have to click TOOLS + OPTIONS, then under DOCUMENT look for RULERS - and change "Nudge" to 1mm. (Because 2.54mm is too large an irregular a jump for most of what I do.)
