Vector Cutting A Graph on Laser

Hi

I am trying to laser cut a bunch of rectangular plates at once using the graph paper  tool.  When the laser cuts the file each rectangle gets all 4 sides cut  ie  each side of the plate  gets 2 passes.  Anyway around this?
