Barcode wizard (Corel) font problem

I try to make an EAN-13 barcode with Barcode wizard. Barcode itself is fine but instead of numbers under the barcode there is only square boxes. It seems that the default barcode font OCR-B 10 BT works not at all with my Corel. The same truetype font works fine with MS-Word and Adobe Pagemaker in the same computer!? The font option in barcode wizard is greyed so I can not change the font so I can not make working barcodes at all. I have reinstalled the font with no help. How can I get my Corel to communicate with this font? My colleagues do not have any problems with the font.

The barcode wizard is working as designed.

What you'll need to do is copy the barcode, and paste as special.

Edit > Paste Special.

Now you can ungroup it and change the fonts.

I use the barcode wizard in Corel X6 for years and it works perfectly, without all this new trouble of pasting and ungrouping etc? It also pastes the barcode directly into the corel page, not into the clipboard. I don't believe X8 barcode wizard is working as it should unless it was redesigned for X8 as an inferior product. The font for EAN13 is not changeable (greyed out) and the human readable letters come out as square outlines. Very annoying and cost me hours of trying to find a fix. Great reward for upgrading to Corel X8. The current workaround as far as I understand is to paste special as picture metafile and the characters become readable. If anyone knows of a better fix please let me know. Thanks.
