How do you get your font to output in inches. I have tried to type in 2.25 inches and CorelDraw changes it to 162 pts. However, when it prints out it is not 2.25 inches it is more like 1.5 inches. Is it the font? I am using ITC Benguiat? Please help? Also, how do you change the font settings in X4 from pts to inches.
Thanks,sperrin
If you're using both upper and lower case letters the height will be calculated from the top of your ascenders to the bottom of your descenders.
Seems it's the same mistake of other posts, because you must measure the total "body" of the typeface, not only one letter.
As Terremoto stated, it all depends on the way the font is used. Below both words (in Benguiat) are 2.25 inches, but the all-caps is 232.027 pt while the upper/lower is 173.977 pt. It was the tail of the 'g' that made the difference:

As to changing in X4:
Hi sperrin, points is a printing measurement as I understand and as mentioned by Terremoto your ascenders and descenders will determine the height of the font that you are using
one way that I work with special size fonts is to use a guide lines that would be set to 2 1/4 inches
apart and adjust the font to that size use upper and lower case fonts to test size and this should show in the font points box record this number and set each time you want that size
also remember that all fonts are not the same size
some one else that understands this subject may give you a better answer
remember fonts are recorded in point size
