Hi - I have a 22 page e-newsletter that I want to convert of PDF for circulating. I have down sampled every bitmap in the document to 72 - 100 DPI. The Coreldraw file is 5mb. When I export to PDF - using low jpg, converting all text to curves - the PDF file is 20mb. What am I doing wrong and how do I get this file less than 2mb? OR do I have to redo it in WORD or WP? Thanks.
You may be able to reduce the file size by NOT converting all of the text to curves, but leave as text. Try converting a common file, both with conversion to curves and without, and see what file size difference you may encounter.
Not an answer to your question but a suggestion. You say, you have downsampled the bitmaps in the document. I would suggest not to downsample it in the doc but to use the feature available in the settings while making the PDF. This will serve your purpose of a smaller sized PDF and still keep the doc good for print output.

I did that to no avail. Thererfore I did each bitmap in the document. After I e-distribute it, they have to be able to print and they do not have coreldraw.
You are a genius - thank you! I thought I was reducing the size by doing that. Stupid me.
