Upgrade to X6 about 10 days ago and at least initially, I was saving in both X5 and X6 formats because I've learned that you can't always trust a new version of Draw. Love the application but, as all long-time users know, new releases have a history of instability.
After a few days of fairly heavy use, it seemed like I was not going to have the usual problems and I stopped saving my work in X5 format. Probably a mistake because two days ago, it started crashing regularly on just about any document I've created with X6 and the crashes have become more frequent yesterday and today.
For the record, Win7 Pro 64-bit, 8gb RAM, Core 2, dual nVidia 8600GT cards with current WHQL driver, and a 250gb SSD boot drive. Data drive is a 750gb spindle with 450gb free.
When it crashes, the problem details are as listed below. I've tried resetting the workspace <F8> and, have done a repair from the installation routine, no avail. All my current documents are mostly curves, text, some Lens and some Extrudes. If anyone can shed some light, I'd appreciate it but I think for the time being, I'm going to save all my X6 files back to X5 and stick with the previous version.
TIA,
Kilobravo

Hello kilogbravo; Just a thought, but you may want to check and see if there is a up date for the Bios. And a question are you running a out of the box Windows or a off the shelf computer co. ver.?
George
TSG: I always build my own desktop machines and this is an OEM box copy of W7Pro 64. As for the mobo BIOS, it's been in the machine with X5 running fine for as long as X5 has been out. Today though, after saving all my current X6 files in X5 format, when I started opening and editing them, X5 STARTED crashing, too so obviously, I'm not a happy camper. The current plan is to uninstall both then only re-install X5 along with the SP's. Why Corel can't provide a stable application like Photoshop or Illustrator (which never crash on my system,) is beyond me and honestly, if Illustrator was even close to as good as X5, I'd say adios to Corel for good. Unfortunately, Illustrator still lags far behind.
