Hi all, we just upgraded from X5 to X6, and I was just wondering if there is a way to preview artwork, in the preview pane, using X6, and I am refferring to .cdr files not .eps.
Also how do you go about changing the default font when starting a new document?
Thanks.

To get the preview of your drawings, go to the Control Panel and then to Programs and Features (Add/Remove Programs, if you are running WinXT), then check to see what version of the Corel Graphics Window Extension. The version number should be 16.x.x.x and not 15.x.x.x. The installer sometimes does not correct this when it finds an existing Windows Extension installed.
To change the default font, open a blank DRAW document and then select the font that you want as the default and the font size. Once you have done that, go to Tools->Save as Default. Close DRAW and then from that point on, the selected font will be the default font.
EDIT:
...or do as Henrik suggest. He is faster than me in responding...
Just checked and the version is 16.x.x.x.x so that's right, and to answer Hendrik's question, I am talking about within windows explorer, in a custom sub-folder in the "my documents" folder. Sorry for the late responses, I'm doing this while at work so may take me a little longer to reply. Thanks for the help!
Which version of Windows are you running?
Try this, when in Windows Explorer, increase the view to Large Icons and see if that will reveal the images of the CDR files.
As to why they do not show properly in the Preview Pane, I do not know...
Illustrating what Hugh says:
Hi
I have the same problem, I've un-installed previous versions and also X6, re-installed X6 but to no avail. I have files going back years, never mind the X5 ones that I cannot view thumbnails/previews of. Is this a 64 bit issue or Windows 7 issue?
It is very, very frustrating
ThanksGordon
I've finally managed to suss this out. When you go open My Computer and you see a Corel 6 Icon, right click 'Open with', this gives a drop down menu, select 'choose default programme' and click on the Corel icon, all your files should become visible, mine did!
Hope this helps anyone with the same issues.
