cannot re-install X6 - I originally had it on a SSD drive (G) but it played up so when it stopped again, I tried to re-install X6 on main HD (C) but am having problems (it locks at 43% and asked me to OK a button - not sure what it is for) then once completed comes back with a Fatal Error message
using Windows 7 on a year old PC (It has been running up to the faulty SSD ok)
I think there may be some remnants of the old install left that is causing problem ?
can you please help.
thank, Ian
Hello Ian; You probably have some of the program written that needs to be removed. How about doing a uninstall of Corel, or you may be able to put the Corel Suite DVD in and do a Repair.
George
Thanks for your feedback. That's what i wad thinking, but i have done both of your suggestions, several times. So as you can now imagine... I'm pulling my hair out just now!!! Cheers

Yea Ian that would be a PAIN, I would try one of two things. 1} Install another SSD drive. 2} Back up the hard drives data, and format the drive and start over. Those are the only 2 things I can think of with out getting deep into the hard drive and removing things manually.
I'd be interested if you could try the microsoft Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter mentioned at http://community.coreldraw.com/forums/p/39183/185962.aspx#185962
I cannot thank you enough for your time and excellent advice...
your suggestion did work (although I did run it about 4-5 times) so once again, I am a happy chappie!
all the very best to you, regards, Ian
