Hi All:
First disclaimer: I am not very experienced at corel draw
Second disclaimer: I HAVE spent a considerable time trying to find the solution by searching the internet and haven't found any.
What I want to do is create an elliptical transparency type and since corel draw does not offer that option, I created a rectangle (2x2 grid) and converted it into a mesh. I selected all the eight outer nodes and made their transparency as zero which when super imposed on the objects below, created a decent approximation to an elliptical transparency.
My problem is that this mesh works on all objects below it in its heirarchy and also on the background color. It doesn't offer something similar to a layer mask in photoshop so that I can select only those objects that are on the same layer as the mesh are affected by the mesh.
Could someone please help. I have included a small sample of the file i described here. http://goo.gl/Wxlo5w
Thanks in advance,
Akshay
If you want to make the grid transparent with that eliptical mesh - see the file in the link here: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=B48A027584F1F09E!579&authkey=!AJueY8KAwWmEKzU&ithint=file%2ccdr
I made a black rectangle with opposite mesh - the center is not transparent. Then I put it like powerclipped object in empty shape like your grid, so actually you can see the background.
If you extract the powerclip will see what I mean.
PS By the way if you want to change the blending between black and the background then after making the black mesh with transparency put a uniform transparency with the transparency tool onto that object, set the transperancy to 0 and make it MULTIPLY!
