No thumbnail previews in 6

We cannot view previews for .cdr files. I have read other postings for this problem and they refer to something called the "shell extension". I clicked on the add on options in the install program and saw nothing saying shell extension. Any help out there?

You will find the Corel Shell Extension on the COntrol panel of Windows, under Programs. If you unisntall it, you can install it again under C:\Program files\Corel\CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X7\Setup\CGS17 (folder path could be different on somecomputers) look for ShellExt.msi and install it.

Also make sure .CDR is correctly associated with Draw X6.

Hi Janet,
If all else fails, buy Mystic Thumbs.
It will also give you thumbnails for Photoshop's .PSD files, PaintShopPro's .pspimage files, plus about 100 other formats.
Just ignore the nonsense that Mystic Thumbs is causing thumbnail problems rather than Corel.
Mystic Thumbs will not produce .cpt thumbnails because Corel stubbornly refuses to release the .cpt specification.

Thanks everybody. I repaired the shell extension and can now see previews for .cdr files but not other file formats from Corel that we export from Corel to other apps. It's very frustrating.
