Can't drag & drop to Rasterlink 6

Hi everyone,
Please help with this very frusterating issue.
We bought a new Mimaki (also have roland and Versaworks RIP, no problems there...) and we print hundreds of different files a day.
For some reason the software just won't allow me to drag and frop my PDF files! In order for me to print them, I need to use File -> Open, which is very time consuming when talking about hundreds of files.

Anyone has any idea why I can't drag & drop?

Hello crazbloomer; That is not a Corel problem. Corel alloow me to drag and drop PDF or any other flie format like PNG, files all the time, when I save for cutting in SignLab all I have to do is have what I wan to cut and press the Ctrl+c (hot key) to save it to the clip board go to SignLab and press Ctrl+v and it is there.

RasterLink Six does not support drag and drop.

We have a new Mimaki also.

RasterLink can be set up with a "hot folder" for drag and drop. We used a hot folder and all the designers could just export to the hot folder and the print person could sort from the RIP. fwiw

David, you said that RasterLink 6 doesn't support drag & drop. Do previous versions of support it?
Myron, can you please elaborate regarding the hot folder? Never heard of it before...
Versaworks is so much easier to deal with :(

I forget what the file path was but it was a shared folder and structured to allow files to be dropped in. Works just like a print que. Once you drop a file in it makes a temporary copy of the file and just sits in the que.

We had a dedicated workstation set up for our print guy that had Rasterlink open all the time. He could just sit and watch as the files came in from other workstations. He would pick and choose as needed. Once printed he'd just dump the files out.

fwiw, we loved the Mimaki for it's ease of use. Somehow the Mimaki developed an electrical problem that would have cost $7000 to fix and since it was about 7yrs old we replaced it with an HP360 Latex printer with Flexi RIP. Not too happy with it right now.
