Opening in CMYK

We installed a version of X6 on a new system and every time we open files with text that have been saved in RGB mode they convert to CMYK.  We tried changing  the default color management settings  and the text settings  in Default object properties but it does work?

  • With CorelDRAW open but with NO DOCUMENTS OPEN, tools color management, default, in this dialog select primary color mode RGB. Close dialog, close CorelDRAW, restart CorelDRAW.

  • Hi BP,

    1. Are you familiar with the two color management dialogs. If not, read up in HELP. Then just stare at them for a while. They are critical if you want color accuracy.
    2. Does your document contain a profile. If not, the color mode will default to the primary color mode shown in the default color management dialog.
    3. Setting the default color mode in the default does not work at times. Sometimes you have to change the overall default setting to get what you want.
    4. Look up the difference between "assign" and "change" in the document dialog. Again, this is critical to future use of the image.

If you're not familiar with all of this gobble-d-gook, you should read up on it. Unfortunately, it's critical to getting colors to come out even close to good.
