Metafile displays colors incorrectly

Hi All,

I have created a grayscale figure in a different application (SigmaPlot) in to be optimized in CorelDraw X6 (Home & Student).

However, when I paste or import the metafile into CorelDraw the colors are incorrectly displayed, with different elements seemingly getting random grayscale colors - not the predefined colors.

When importing the same metafile into other applicationw (i.e. office products), the colors are displayed normally.

It seems like this is a CorelDraw problem, but is there anything I could do about this?

Is it possible to create a simple (non-confidential) file which demonstrates the problem, and upload here it so we can test it?

Hi Harry,

Sure - I have attached a metafile (*.emf) where this problem occurs.

Also attached a 1 page PDF with an overview how it should look and what it does look after importing or paste the metafile in CorelDraw.

I can confirm the problem in both X6 and X7 (full versions) so it is not specifically a Home and Student problem.

In wireframe mode, I can see that one of the missing lines actually has a shape, but it is set to "no fill, no outline, zero thickness".

EMF is a binary file format, so I can't look for possible clues in the EMF itself but I'll send the file to Corel and see if they can work it out.

In case it helps you get a job done, I notice the EMF opens correctly in Open Office -- from which it can be exported to PDF and the PDF imports OK into CorelDraw looking more like your expected result.

Thanks for checking this in different CorelDraw versions.
That confirms there is nothing wrong with my settings.

I do have time to get this sorted - so in case Corel gets back to you, please let me know. Otherwise I'll just find other ways of getting done what I need to do.
