Can I make rounded corners on rectangles that extend and bulge outwards rather than move inwards? I assumed by putting a minus figure in the corner radius I could make this happen...but I cant, the corners are always reduced in size rather than added to. Any help would be great.
There are three options for corners in X6: Rounded, Scalloped and Chamfered.
But it sounds like you are looking for something else, right?
Here's a screenshot of the Property Bar when a rectangle is selected.
http://s18.postimg.org/ugi7ocr15/Untitled_1.gif Hi, thanks for both replies, I'm sorry I wasn't clearer, I'm having some issues attaching a file so I've had to link, hope that's ok. The image on the left is easily achievable but what I'm wanting is like the image ont he right where the corners actually move outside the rectangle. Hope that's clearer and thanks again for the help. Mark.
I was afraid that was what you were looking for, mark84. Unfortunately there is no automated way to achieve this, as far as I know. MikeWe's solution is the one I'd use too. With "Snap to Objects" on, it is very easy to do.
If you still need a faster way you could try this macro:
Sub Outwardcircles()
Dim S As Shape, N As Node
For Each S In ActiveSelectionRange
If S.Type = cdrCurveShape Then
For Each N In S.Curve.Nodes
ActiveLayer.CreateEllipse2 N.PositionX, N.PositionY, 0.1 '<== Desired radius here
Next N
End If
Next S
End Sub
Set the radius, curve your shapes, then weld the results together.
