Seamless/Perfect diagonal stripe patterns

So I thought I had nailed it in 2 ways - first was by making a square and dividing it with equal rectangles, making it diagonal, and powerclipping it. Seemed like a perfect pattern, but turns out I was simply lucky with the calculations, and it wasn'd in fact PERFECT. I tried the same technique, and it proved it wasn't the way to make a perfect diagonal pattern. Second I tried blending stripes in a rectangle from one side to another. This method I reckon is alright for making designs for press or plotter, but NOT for perfect patterns, since I would have to calculate and cut the perfect square of the pattern myself.

So, I came here with a hope that there is a practical and efficient way to make PERFECT diagonal striped patterns in CorelDRAW. :)

I get a perfect pattern in Illustrator simply blending the two rectangles sitting in the corners. Ok I must try this again in CorelDRAW.

It may be that CorelDraw just shows inaccurate edges, or this is a bug. I tried welding the squares with them patterns and I get a straight line without any nodes, altho it messes other ones a bit, and I have to fix them. But it seems I can indeed get a perfect pattern. Altho in a big of a buggy way.

[img]http://i57.tinypic.com/2uzw7l5.jpg[/img] It shows a small bump,altho it should have done it precisely, because it spapped to intersection from the center. But even when it is snapping there, it shows the selection slightly away from the center, even tho it has no other place to snap! This is what really bugs me with CorelDRAW.

It might just be indeed that CorelDRAW just loves to show bumps altho they are not there. I tested the repeated image in the browser. I got the perfect pattern.

I would create the shape or container it should be in the end, so in your example the square. I would rotate it by 45 deg. than draw a rectangle which is long enough to cover the diagonal(now horizontal) width of the square. multiply it as often as you need it. place one in the bottom corner of the square and one in the top corner (using snap to makes it accurate) mark all rectangles and use the distribute function, (probably to center). color them blue and powerclip them into the initial square. make the square yellow and rotate it back to 0 deg. if you dont want to powerclip them you can combine them and use intersect in connection with the square.
should do the trick quick smart. I use this quite a lot to create stripes on ties which we sublimate on.
