How does one insert a symbol into text?

I designed a simple symbol and I wish to insert it into the text (paragraph or artistic). How does one insert a symbol into text?

Try copying the symbol to your clipboard, then, while typing and cursor live, paste (ctrl+v).

Thank you. Slight problem with the symbol and size. "Symbols" don't seem to paste in. So, I converted it to curves and used your suggestion, "Try copying the (symbol) [curve] to your clipboard, then, while typing and cursor live, paste (ctrl+v)."It pastes in very big, so I changed the font size of the curve to about half of the size of the text.

Try the Insert Symbol Character option under Text Menu. You can have it as a docker on the right hand side of the screen and while typing find the desired character just double click on it and continue typing.
