In X3 I was able to add colors to the default CMYK pallet using the Pallet Editor. I've been unable to do this in X6. To work around this, I've been creating document pallets for each project, but they don't save when I shut down the program. When I open it back up I need to drag colors back to the pallet. Is there a setting I can change that will enable me to add colors to the CMYK pallet and have them stay there?
The document pallet should save with the document. Are you asking about making a palette from your document that can be set as a default or otherwise be saved and used in other documents?
I believe Corel removed some errors in how they handle palettes and locking some was part of it. You most likely will fond old X4/3 palettes may not work at all.
Ariel is right, you can not add colors to the Default palette, or any fixed palette for that matter. The way around it is very easy though:Open the Color Palette Manager docker.Locate the "Default palette" and drag it to the "My Palettes" section.Close the eye symbol on the old palette and open it on the new one.Done.To truly make it the default palette, click the little arrow at the top of the palette and enable "Set As Default".You may notice two small differences when using the copy of the default palette (except for the ability to add/edit colors):1. When you use a color from the copy, its name will be displayed in Status Bar.The same color from the original palette will show CMYK or RGB values.2. If you switch between CMYK and RGB mode for a document, the original palette will switch accordingly. The copy will always stay either CMYK or RGB (but you can on the other hand add RGB colors to the new CMYK palette if you like).
