In X3 I'd go to Pallet Editor / Add color/ Fixed Pallets and then choose from the Pantone list. In X6 I found the Pantone color pallet under "pallet libraries" but I don't see how to add a color fom this pallet to my default pallet. Is there a way I can find a specific Pantone color and add it to my default pallet rather than having to scroll through the whole Pantone pallet trying to find the number I'm looking for (which can take forever?)
It is not possible to add or edit colors in the fixed palettes, the default palette included, as you already know from this thread.
Easiest way to find Pantone colors is to Shift+click a swatch in the open palette. This will bring up a Find dialog, where you can type the number (no need to type "Pantone").Click OK or hit Enter and the color will be selected in the palette. It can be a bit difficult to see which swatch is selected, but it is usually near the top or bottom of the (vertical) palette. *
The Color docker works the same and in the Fill dialog you can do the same thing by simply typing the number in the "Name" field.
* This is for X7, in X6 it works better and the selected swatch is where the cursor is.
