I'm sorry but I can't believe that we are the only people being plagued with random crashes in X7. We have 3 of us working on CorelDraw X7 on 3 different computers and all of us are experiencing several crashes a day. Sometimes when clicking something, often a few seconds after clicking, almost always without being offered a restore back up option. The helpful Windows error message every time just gives 'APPCRASH' (which I could have guessed).
I've been using CorelDraw every day since version 10, and this one seems to crash more than any other version so far. Are there others getting similar problems?
Hello scarott; Would you tell us what type of setup the computers have? I'm using the 64 bit ver. in Windows 7 and don't have any problems, unless I caused them.
George
Most importantly, the version of Windows you have and the amount of RAM installed on your computers.
Two well known ways to get more crashes than everybody else:
Ideally, keep the permanently installed fonts under 400 that you intend to use in the documents you create. Properly set up, fontnav will automatically install other fonts only while they are required for existing documents.
I am having the same issue on a daily basis and there is no singling out any one event...no message no crash repost just closes without warning, no recovered file in temp folder nadda
I could be simply resizing an object and BAM!!!!!!!!!! X7 CLOSES it is extremely annoying that x7 is that unstable.
Win 8.1 64
16Gb ram
Asus Mobo Amd 8 core cpu
Hello britepencil; I don't know anything about Win 8.1, but it looks like you have plenty of ram. What kind of video and have you got the drivers for that 8.1? In win 7 you should clean out the temp files. check how many fonts are in the Windows\Fonts dir. Look to see what Windows is running when you are using Corel. that should help any of the OP systems.
