Ive got an very bad problem when trying to convert text to curves in corel X7 64bit.
Does not matter what kind of text or font... whenever there's a word with color in it and the rest of the text black, convert it to curves and it removes all the color (it makes for instance the red text black).
Tried it with the basic text and the textframes... both the same result.
2 other computer wich i made an fresh install had the same problem!
When publishing to PDF the same happens.
The biggest problem is that all the prepress we make must have text as curves wich has allready gone wrong for 2 times and we needed to order the job again. It costs a los of money and time this way to do the job right.
Do more people have this problem and/or tackled it?
Yes, there are already a few posts about this.
For the moment, the safest option is to publish to PDF without converting to curves. Make sure you embed the fonts in the PDF and there should be no requirement to convert the text to curves at all.
If you must insist on converting to curves instead of embedding the fonts, do it in the PDF not in the CDR file. To do that, go to PDF settings > objects and select Export all text as curves.
In all cases, check the PDF in a PDF viewer and verify that you have the correct objects, but in both cases you should see the correct results.
If i do that... fortunately it has the same problem when publishing to pdf... colored text going to black!The only option then is use acrobat pro and hopefully he converts text to curves... i'll have to find out.
with simple texts left aligned you can work with: ctrl-K / break text till all the words are apart and then convert to curves. Colors stay then.when its got filled out text it does not work.
Hopefully corel comes quick with an update. Were working here now for 35 years?? from corel v 3.0 and actually never had any problems.Now starting with an premium account and all the problems started. Now even on an pc with win 8.1 stability problems and crashes.
This colored paragraph text is with X7.1, using Publish to PDF and opting to convert the text to curves.
Text is curves as evident by the Acrobat Cursor (it's not the text cursor). You can also do this in Acrobat, under Print Production, Flattener Preview. I have had to do this enough for printers that use an outdated RIP or pre-press procedures (like placing PDFs in AI or CD, for instance) that cannot handle OT and OT features out of PDF files, that I created a preset (as can be seen in the screen shot below).

Could you upload a simple example that loses text colour when making a PDF ? The example I tried did not, so it would be good to give Corel an example for testing.
somehow one of the files i had problems with did not create the problem here at home when published to pdf! Did yet not try the other files... i'll watch and try tomorrow at the company with the same file.
Usual setting i allways make is pdf-x1a, euroscale coated v2 embedded, image settings to jpg high 20, 300/600/1200dpi, complex fills as bitmap and text to curves.
