OK, so I drew a line in X7. I'd like to be able to see its angle and length. I can get its horizontal and vertical size and do the math, but it seems I should just be able to see it displayed. I can get the length displayed in the object properties under curve properties, but no angle.
It seems silly to use the angle dimension tool, which draws an angle dimension rather than just showing you the angle of the line.
Hello robertbasruch; Is This What you are wanting to do?
George
No, I think he just wants to see the angle, ideally in the Object Properties docker maybe the Angle of Rotation should have an Absolute/relative option. Of course it couldn't apply to curves or complex shapes, only to rectangles or lines I guess.
If you want to define an absolute angle of rotation you have to start with a horizontal line. This is borderline CAD territory really. It's be nice to have but Draw is much more a drawing/page layout app rather than technical drawing app.
Well You are right X7 is NOT a cad program but it will give the angel, and it has been doing that for a long time. ( If he is doing tech drawing it is best to use a CAD software.) But for a graphics program it doesn't do to bad.
Hi words,
I'm afraid I'm going to need more words than that. It looks like you've moved the center of the line to one of the endpoints, but I still don't see how you're getting the angle to show up.
