Thumbnail extraction

It worked for *. CDR files. The thumbnails come up as *.BMP files. That probably explains why the X6 Shell Extension can display DRAW thumbnails even though the format of the image has changed.
Would you happen to know how to get at the *.CPT thumbnails.

Does it also act as a Shell Extension for Windows Explorer -- i.e. are the thumbnails for CPT files automatically displayed when a folder containing CPT files is opened.
Getting the CDGS Shell Extension to display CPT files has been a chronic problem for a few of us.

No, it does not add shell extensions. It is stand alone. It is a bit long in the tooth as I have not seen any major updates in awhile. Regardless, I have used it well for years. It is the only viewer I have found that deals with CDR's well. As not any other thumbnail viewer deals with CDR, it is without competition in that area.

Corel Connect has thumbnail options but I find the thumbnails Corel generates can vary in quality. ST Thumnailer builds new ones from a fresh render up to a max resolution of 600x600 px.

It handles CPT also. If CorelDraw is installed it uses Draw's own engine to generate the thumbnails. Without CorelDraw installed it will not work with CDR's.

The software handles most other vector and raster formats. HPI is the only raster format it seems to miss, though I don't encounter those often. I fall back to Xnview for those.
