windows help and support opens every time I click the page or any tool in corel draw

I just installed an old version of CorelDraw on my new pc and windows help and support opens every time I click the page or any tool in coreldraw, making the program unusable. I should mention that I did not get the usual windows at the end of the install that show the icons associated with all the different features in the Corel file. Any thoughts out there?

An old version will probably not run natively in windows 7.

You may be able to fix it if you can find the corelDraw.exe file, right click on it and go to properties > compatibility. Choose a compatibility mode such as windows XP or 2000 -- it should be a version of windows that was current when the program was released.

Which old version? I have v12 running under Win 7 64bit, indeed I still use v12 Trace extensively, but its not completely stable and you do have to install with admin priveleges and run in compatability mode.

You'll freak when I tell you that I'm using CorelDraw 7. I've written 7 flight training manuals and 80+ articles that feature tons of illustrations, and 7 is so clean and simple for the type of graphics I'm drawing. Here's a pdf sample:

Thanks a lot for your input. I wasn't able to get Corel 7 to work under any compatibility settings. The troubleshooter indeed indicates that the program is incompatible, despite Corel 7 working on my other pc running windows 8.1..
