Empty pdf after publish

We have a very strange problem.
Sometimes, but not all the time, when publishing a pdf (publish selection only) the pdf file is empty.

The size of the pdf is exaclty the size of the selection, but there is no content in it.
I've tried al pdf versions, all settings. But nothing helps.

Selecting the design, click on publish pdf. Settings are: (selection only).
Result: Empty file.
Do exacly the same (select again everything I want to publish).
result: Empty file.
Do it again... yes! Score. Now the pdf is ok.

Sometimes I have to do it 5 times to get the pdf out.
Sometimes it works the first time.

This could be caused by a PDF viewer trying to make thumbnails for windows explorer. If it tries to do it too soon after CorelDraw starts to create the file, it can create a problem writing the file. The same can happen if an antivirus program tries to scan the file immediately on creation.

What PDF viewers (adobe reader, foxit etc) do you have installed -- and is the problem in CorelDraw or Photopaint?
Does it depend whether the folder that you are saving to is open in windows explorer?

Hi Dennis,
I have experienced what you say when x7 first came out, I had to go back to x6 to get the pdf publish to work. Are you up to date on the patches = 7.3, that fixed my issue. (actually 7.2 fixed it for me)

I'm running 7.3 now.
It happens on my 32 bit and on my 64 bit windows 7 computers.

I invite all coreldraw users who's not have problems with corel draw x7 to help mr. Stickerland . So, Mr Ariel, Stefan L. , Mr. Gerard, etc. , here is the time to show here the evidence that coreldrawx7 works fine . If some of you tells that everything works fine in coreldrawx7, please prove this. Honestly.

PDF'ing a selection is not part of my work-flow. I likely have never done it. Or I'm getting to old to remember.

So I just tried it on 3 different files, various selections on each. Worked first time each try for me. Does that mean it will always work? Nah. Only enough to satisfy my curiosity.

Providing a file that fails more often than not, maybe even knowing what PDF profile is being used would help.
