CorelDraw consistently crashes every time I try and drag a colour onto or off the custom RGB palette...

CorelDraw consistently crashes every time I try and drag a colour onto or off the custom RGB palette that I have created.
I have been working around this, but I would like to be able to use it for example with the gradient tool.

It happens every single time time without fail, so it looks like a bug.

I have a legitimate copy of X7.
Is there a workaround?

Unfortunately I don't know of anyone else having this issue. Are Windows and X7 fully updated?

how much RAM do you have?

Affirmative. I am using Windows 8.1, fully updated. X7 is also up to date.

I only have 8Gb. I was planing on upgrading that...
The rest of the specs are i7 retina imac, with 256Gb SSD and the better graphics card option.

I just checked with a standard RGB palette and it doesn't crash.
But I can take a video screen grab of it happening...

Mid reply update: okay, in order to be more systematic, I made sure my custom palette was docked in the exact same place as the other default one. I usually have it at the bottom because there's more space down there and I can see the colour swatches better. And so I just noticed an empty palette. I got rid of that. Then I floated off the one I wanted to keep. I tested it again by dragging off a colour. And now it works! So the problem is solved. I don't know what the glitch was but it's gone! Woohoo!!

Your system is a bit lite for CorelDraw, especially if some of the system memory is shared with the video. My advice is to get as much RAM as you can, use minimal customization of the workspace and do not run any other applications other than those required for your work when you run CorelDraw.

it's an old Thread - it might be almost 2 years too late to answer, but I have the same Problem with Corel X8 / also Win 8.1 / and I have a copy of X7 also installed (for emergency usage) - But I also run X8 on my Laptop with Window10 on it - and there are no Problems. The Laptop has even the half of Power as my PC. 8GB Ram on my Laptop 16GB on my PC - So I don't believe that you have to upgrade your System. So it must be a Problem with Corel and Windows I guess. I have not solved the Problem jet. Could also be a conflict caused by the 2 Versions.
