I have a railroad grade profile document from 1881 that I want to recreate in CorelDraw. It's a document from the CRI&P railroad that was created after the railroad was built across Iowa from Davenport to Council Bluffs, linking with the Union Pacific as part of the transcontinental railroad line It has a horizontal scale of 10,000 ft. to the inch and a vertical scale 200 ft to the inch.
In addition it has mile markers with the elevations.
I'm wondering how to setup a scale like this.
Also, I want to automate the the drawing as much as possible. I'd like to take the milemarker and elevation data from the paper document and create a data table. Then use VBA to draw the lines match the way the original document was done.
Once all that is done, be able to publish into a web page that allows the user to pan across the document.
Perhaps someone has done something similar and has some tips and tricks.
