.Png file won't edit

I want to transfer a slide (a drawing and some text, a .png file) from the media library of a blog theme to my CD H&S 7. The slide is also on my DT. I want to edit the text and then put the new slider on the theme's Home page. Problem: when I go to CD and Import, the slide shows up in the workplace BUT IT WON'T EDIT. The text tool seems to have left the building.
Is it a vector/bitmap issue? (keep in mind that I don't know what those are)

Any ideas out there? Thanks!

    Sounds like a vector/bitmap issue. Bitmaps are pixels. That is all. There isn't any separate text, it's just a plain of dots. Vector is paths and curves, instructions on how to draw something. Often those instructions remain editable, (like text.)

    In some cases, say if you have black text on a white back ground, you can draw over the text with a white rectangle and then type text over it. Otherwise, if you have to get the text out of a bitmap, you have to use something like the magic wand tool, or the healing tool to get rid of the text.
