Coreldraw X8 and Font Manager X8 constantly freezing up

I am using 2 machines: Surface Pro 4 (I7, 16GB Ram, 512 SSD) and a new Alienware 15 R2 (I7 6820, 32GB Ram, NVidia 980, 1TB SSD).

Both machine are experiencing the same issues with Draw X8 freezing up when trying to open a file (any file), and whatever this Font Manager X8 mess is, that program is a crash waiting to happen.

Uninstalled, re-installed, no benefit.

I wonder if anyone else is having any issues.

Both machines were previously running X7 without issue. Looks like I'll be going back to what works. I wonder if a refund is possible.

How are you fonts stored? Locally on a network? Are you hardwired or wireless? How many fonts?

OK, I think I have it whittled down to the culprit. Corel Font Service X8. Looking at the Task Manager disk usage, Font Service is working the hard drive like a horse constantly (49%) usage. After about 30 minutes, the hard drive activity finally abated, and Draw is now responding more normally. I have 565 fonts installed. I can't END TASK for the Font Service in the Task Manager, as it keeps re-appearing. Almost acts like a virus. How do I get rid of this Font Manager X8, so I can put Bitstream Manager back on?

.......Fonts are locally stored on C drive, Hardwired.

Are you monitoring any folders for fonts via Font manager?

No, never got that far, Font Manager locks up (hangs while trying to catalog the fonts at 0%) when any attempt to add a folder to monitor is tried. I have a single font folder on my C drive, which contains a total of 1312 fonts. Since I mainly use CorelDraw X8 for doing complex technical illustrations, and use InDesign CC for any text work and book compilations, I really have no need for the Corel Font Manager. Can the Corel Font Service be disabled somehow? Or is it now an integral part of the Suite.
