Well, the title is bigger than the explanation.... btw it's not easy to find a good answer without see the file. can you upload to a free storage service, such as wetransfer.com? If the compressed file size is 300 Mb maybe the uncompressed file (when you open it) exceed the 2 GB limit of RAM that Windows allows for 32 bits programs (like CorelDARW X3)
