My Canon / Fiery postscript printer returns the following error when printing a multi-page file from CorelDraw X3:
Error: typecheck: OffendingCommand: restore
I never got this using CorelDraw 10 and 12 since the year 2000, but since upgrading to X3 I've gotten this several times. (my only solution the first two times was to figure out which page was casing it through trial and error and recreate the elements via copy and paste on that page, but this is time consuming.)
I get the same error if I print to Cute PDF writer to create a PDF file

so it appears to be a Corel not a Fiery/Canon issue
It also *appears* that if I print the same two pages which are causing the error using CorelDraw to either impose / n-up booklet or 2-up on 11x17 I get the error.If I print the same two pages separately to a letter sheet 1-up I do not get the errror which makes no sense to me.Before there were two text frames linked, which was the only connected element between the two pages. I've separated the text frames so there is no element spanning the two pages, and yet still I get the error if I use corel to 2-up or booklet impose these two pages.This is truely a strange glitch that is driving me nuts (and taking hours away from what could be much needed sleep.)If anyone has an idea on what could be the cause or solution or has seen this before, I will express my thanks in advance.
Can I get file for testing?
I'm sorry I did not yet post a file for testing.
The file this occurs in is very large to post on the web. I've been trying to narrow it down, but so far it's remained mysterious - I've encountered it a few more times, but can't figure out what causes it or when to excpect it.
It happens rarely but sometimes (and when it does, it's obviously quite frustrating since it won't print) when printing 2-up or booklet imposed.
It doesn't happen if printing the same file 1-up.
I can narrow down the pages that cause it by where the error occurs. However, if I copy those 8.5 x 11 pages one at a time into a new 11 x 17 document and print that (instead of having corel impose the two pages 2-up) I also do not get the error.
Finally, I thought I woudl be able to post a small file here by deleting all content on the pages that don't cause the error leaving only the two offending pages 100% as they were in the original document, but after doing this, found that no error occurred then either.
So it's quite a mystery for me. I'm still trying to narrow it down or have it occur on a nice very small file to post here.
As a workaround:
* I can use corel's publish to pdf to generate a pdf, and then use cutepdf pro to bookletize to print the proof
* I can copy and paste the offending pages onto a new 11 x 17 sheet to manually 2-up impose those myself to print without error.
