Hi all,
Is there any tutorial on Print Imposition? that also shows how to customize it for many pages
The basic rules for print imposition, (from one who spent 50 years in the printing trade) are:-
1. The total number of pages must be divisable by 4.2. The odd numbered page must always be on the right hand side.3. The page numbers of each pair of pages will always total one more than the number of pages.e.g. If you are printing a 16 page booklet.then page 1 will be paired with page 16.
for more complex impositions the rules may vary depending on how the sheet will be folded.

Thanks for those EchoAlfa, but nothing more than this available free on whole of the internet?

Hi Foster, Can't u sale it separately the imposition section of ur book? Or will I have to buy ur full book, as I currently just need the detailed info on Imposition.
Paul's links are very good.
If you are in any doubt about imposition the easiest way is to make a dummy/mock-up by folding the sheet as you intend and then number each page accordingly whilst it is folded then open out flat and there is your imposition.
Imposition depends largely on the methods to be used for folding; I once had an auto folding machine. and the manual illustrated 87 different ways of folding the same sized sheet of paper.
Personally I would leave it in the hands of the printer.

I allways do it, specially ofr magazines or other impositions. And i believe is necessary for beginners but is also good for experienced users

Yes, and not only for the folding mahine, also about the printer machine, the size of the printer and the size of the paper, the amount of pages and, of course, the prices.

The first time I read I believe you are talking about the printer machine (some printers had imposition tools) but then I read again and I mean you are talking about the printer company, so I totally agree.
Hi EchoAlfa, this is what I've been doing and have no problems in doing it either, But the problem is I don't know how to create my imposition layout in the Corel's Imposition Signatures based on my dummy, So I have to do it in the document, that requires a lot of effort. In short I can't customize my Imposition Layouts. Any help will be highly appreciated on doing it in Corel.
I have never been able to get the imposition/signature layout to work, and I have been using Draw since version 3.

Then how do you do that? Manually like me, or leave it on the mercy of the Printer.
I really hope that somebody would tell us something how it's done in corel.
