I have Corel X3, and was just sent some files that appear to have been done in X3, but they won't open. I get this message:
Either <file name> is not importable using the selected filter, or this format is not supported.
Any idea what might be wrong?
Hello Linaik; Post the file here so we can take a look at it. If it is to large you could use a Drop Box. And you can email me the file and I'd be glad to try it.

Thank you for the offer, George. Unfortunately, these figures contain client sensitive information and I don't think I should be sharing them.
Linaik I do understand, try opening the file with WinZip and see if there is something you can use. ( Corel Owns WinZip, that why it may work.)and you could contact the client and ask them to convert the file to curves before sending it.

Do you have a hex editor such as PSPAD ?
If you do, then you can check whether it really is a version X3 CDR file by looking at the top of the file.
If the 8th-10th characters are CDR and the 11th character is D (13 in binary, or X3) then you do have an X3 CDR file.
If you don't have a hex editor, you can look at the top of the file in notepad, but it will not be well formatted and you should be very careful not to save the file afterwards.
I opened it in Notepad. The character it says CDRE, not CDRD.
Does that mean it is a newer version of CorelDraw?
