Drawing stipple.

Hi, I just want to create stipple effect using the basic freehand tool.

I've checked all the blogs and there are plenty of ways, like creating a spray pattern template, or enlarging to huge and make loads of closed little circles. There appears to be loads of solutions, but none of this cut & pastey stuff is remotely as fast as freehand stipple, if you are an accomplished freehand traditional illustrator.
Part of the problem is that you can't turn off viewing the nodes.

Is there something I am not aware of, or is fine line cross-hatch or stipple not possible in Vector using the Freehand tool the same way as you would ink on paper?

Its a piece of cake in any bitmap programs, but you can forget power tracing because all you'll get is flat matt grey shapes and I'm sick of drawing traditionally, scanning and then hope like hell power trace will fix it up.

I love Corel for logos and Commercial stuff but am baffled as to why I can't just...................DRAW? . All I want is to draw a picture!! It is called CorelDRAW after all!! Help!!
