edit bitmap x3 and x6

I use CorelDraw X3 at my shop and have always been able to launch photo paint through edit bitmap; however, I installed CorelDraw x6 on my system to learn and now my x3 edit bitmap sends me to windows 7 instead of photo paint. I am still able to use it, but I have to do work around instead of using the edit bitmap key. Since x6 photo paint is somewhat complicated I still use x3 to fix my bitmaps. Is there a fix?

Do you you mean that launching edit bitmap through X3 takes you to X6 pp (not Win7 )?

I wouldn't say there is a need for a fix per say as that's the it's suppose to work. You might be able to create a macro to edit your bitmap using X3 pp. Or perhaps there is a hack for the registry to point X3's "edit bitmap" to X3 pp.

no, I mean that my x3 no longer lets edit bitmap take me to corel paint. I can go start, then coreldraw folder and select corel paint from there, but the edit bitmap key takes me to windows 7 paint. On my x6 that I have, the edit bitmap key takes me to corel paint x6, which is ok, but I have not relearned where everything is at or how to use it. I honestly thought that x6 was going to be good, but I tend to revert back to using my x3 for many things. I just wish the edit bitmap key would actually open my x3 corel paint like it did prior to loading the x6 version.

Have you tried using windows explorer and right click on an image file then choose open with "choose default program"? Then browse to find X3 pp and be sure and check "Always use..."

If I do that, won't it make my x6 paint not launch when I am using x6?
