Microsoft filters

I was trying import some return address labels from word to corel which did not work. So I looked it up in my Corel Draw books and the books taked about filters but give me no idea on where to find filters to import word to draw. I google it and can’t find anything. Any ideas where I can find such a filter?

Thanks

  • Kimberly, what happens when you try to import? Also, what version of MS
    Word are you using?
The filters are simply the piece of the program that lets you import or
save to a particular file type. They come with your program if they're
available at all. The reason I ask about versions is that CorelDRAW
can't import a Word document that's newer than it is. The newest version
it can handle is Word 2002. It may help to save your Word document to an
older version (give it a new name so you don't loose your original!)
Now, IF you have compatible versions, but for some reason the .doc
filter didn't get installed or turned on with your CorelDRAW, there are
two places to check to fix the situation.
    1. Tools/Options - scroll all the way to the bottom of the left hand
column and expand Global by clicking on the (+) sign. Click Filters. Now
on the far right column, scroll down probably to near the bottom of the
list of active filters. That's where you'll find the text filters. If
your version of Word isn't listed, expand the Text category from the
remaining list and choose it from there. There should be three DOC
filters listed in one category or the other or both if they've been
installed. If they're not in the list of active filters, but are in the
available file types, select them from the left, then click the Add
button. You'll need to do it one at a time.
    2. IF the DOC filters don't appear in the list, you'll need to do a
repair install, and make sure "install filters" is a part of the
process. (Can't give you specifics there, because you are probably on XP
and I'm using Vista. The process is a bit different.)
    Hope that gets you going.
