Hi......
Have just joined the forum & am looking for help. I have had CorelDraw suite 12 for over 5 years now & have never had any problems until now. My problem is, I can work on a photo in draw & save it with no problem. However, when I try to open it in CorelPaint, the saved photo opens tiny & not as saved. I have tried everything I can think of to rectify this (altering the measurements via Image>Resample to the original saved size), but without any success. The only conclusion I can come to, is that I've altered something somewhere in Paint. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hi,
A rule of thumb: iF you are to send the image eventually to print, set DPI to 300 when you start to create a new original image.
You can also use as a rule to set resolution for Web and online to 72 and 96 DPI/PPI. Sometimes I set to 100 DPI in cases I like an image text have to be very small nd as sharp and readable as possivle. In case 72 and 96 isn't good enough.
Back to print and 300 DPI. While 300 DPI will definitely save the image in high quality, a big billboard, human figure high and higher on subway train station, you might be Okey when printing , using only 200 DPI. Or maybe even 150 DPI. But that said, that's important to talk with the printer guy/girl about. Mahe they themselves sort it by resampling your 300 DPI down to 150 - 200 DPI. Simply because a view maybe stand on the train platform waiting on a train and it is maybe 3-4 meter away from the person viewing the billboard.
