Hoping someone can help me. I'm using the envelope to wrap test around a bitmap image. If I have three columns of text and use the envelope on the first column, the text dissapears from the other columns. If I delete the last two columns and use the envelope, I can link the remaining text to a new column. However, if I then try to use the envelope on the new column as well, the test dissapears. I hope I've explained that OK. Thanks in advance for your help. Larry
Why do you want to use the envelop? Why you don't use Wrap Paragraph Text feature?
When you use the text wrap with a JPG or Tif (or any image with the white box around it), the text wraps around the box. If, for instance, you have a picture of an apple and want the text to wrap in a curve around the shape of the apple, don't you need to use the envelope? Is there an other way?
You can always draw a curve around the picture. Set "No Colour" the its outline, so that it is not seen or printed and wrap the text. Much better and faster than creating an envelope.

You should use envelop if you want the text taking the apple shape, but if you want to wrap around the apple, you need to create a mask around the apple and make its background transparent, or you could draw an object with the apple shape, and assign none fill or outline to it, then you activate the wrap paragraph feature of this object.
