Corel DRAW 11 on Win10x64 - crashes when opening any file

Hello,

As in topic - any ideas? After change of hardware in company our brilliant Corel DRAW 11 does not work properly anymore. Everytime I try to open any earlier saved file there's a message "There is a problem with sending request to a program" and then Windows popup appears that Corel stopped working and crashes. I've done some research on the web, but no success. Maybe someone has similar problem, with version 11 in particular?

Now, I'm aware that this is very old version of Corel and simplest solution is to buy new package, unfortunately that is not possible ATM.

I have the same issue on some new to me computers (i7, Win10 64bit, 16GB RAM). I previously ran CorelDraw 11 just fine in Win10 on a less powerful, less memory machine (Pentium D, 4GB RAM).

Still no solution in sight.

Hello havohavoki; Windows 10 was NOT ought when ver. 11 came out......... You could try updating Corel, or get a older OS........That May help you. Windows 10 Suckes I THINK.........

Thing is, CD 11 works fine on another Win10 machine.

I replaced the kodakcms.dll, with newer version (5.something vs 4.somehing CD installed), that led to a couple popup error messages on launching CD, but it launched and ran. On a whim, I put the original kodakcms.dll, back, and CD launches without any messages. Seems to be working now.

Except: Win10 (possibly the recent Creator Update) has fubared my Type 1 fonts. They work in M$ products, but are invisible in CD (Draw and Paint). But that's another topic. The fonts work fine on the older Win10 machine. Guess I'll have to keep it in service a while longer

Hello vmanes; Not All Computers work the same......... Older ver. can be made to run under Windows 10, But they are NOT made for Windows 10.
