I use CorelDRAW every day and now X6 (which is awesome) but one thing I have never had is a drawing tablet like a Wacom. I have been drawing my engraving designs since Cince CorelDRAW5 Many years ago, with effectively a brick on a string (the mouse!) So which in your opinion is the best to start with. My drawings are not enormous but detailed. Any suggestions?
Cince... mean "since"
When it comes to tablets, there is only one name; Wacom.
I own two Wacoms, a small Graphire 2 and a medium Intuos 4. Also, I own a generic tablet, medium size. The one that I love the most is the Medium Intuos 4.
The Bamboo series of tablets from Wacom, are not that expensive and would be the greatest thing for your first tablet. You do have to make the decision what size of tablet you prefer. I love the Medium size. There is another person on this forum (who may chime in on this discussion) uses a very small area of his tablet, like maybe an inch or inch and a half, square, for pretty much all his hand/mouse interface.....
So, drop in at your local Computer outlet that carries tablet(s), and look over the Bamboo tablets.
Consider skipping the Wacom tablets completely and look into something like the Samsung Series 7 Slate, but wait til later this year and get a Windows 8 model.

I believe that Lesley was talking about a pen and tablet and not a tablet computer.....
Hi Hugh , thank you for this response, that is what I needed to know. By the looks of things I may go for the Intuos 5, 4 must be an older version although I see second hand available from Wacom website. I bet, though, that I would probably only need a small. I am looking forward to this new adventure!
Many thanks again.
