CorelCAD VS Designer

Greetings. Brand new to the Community and Corel Actually. I am wondering what the difference between CorelCAD and Designer are? I am a veteran with other Cad products (Autodesk and PTC primarily).

CorelCAD is like Autocad. Designer is like CorelDRAW. That's the simple explanation - You can design 3D solids and export them as STL files for printing from CorelCAD but not Designer. If you have a more specific question, please let me know - I use CorelCAD and CorelDRAW mostly, and rarely use them together, but am starting to run into times that I need to - There are plugins with Designer that are also much better at rendering your 3D designs from CorelCAD than the CorelCAD application can -

Thanks David, This is indeed a Huge help.
From what I have seen on the surface, CorelCAD is much like Autocad...which is a good thing.

CorelCAD is very much like autocad, but without some of the extra features and the odd bug thrown in - but the commands and controls are the same, and what works on AutoCAD often works on CorelCAD so if you can't find a solution to a problem in CorelCAD, look for a solution to the same problem in AutoCAD and it will probably also work in CorelCAD. If you find something in CorelCAD that doesn't work the exact same was as in AutoCAD, then the developers will usually fix it, though there are no interim patches and you will need to upgrade versions to keep up with patches.

There are some slight differences - some of the AutoLISP routines I write for CorelCAD won't work in AutoCAD, but they were pretty close and almost worked.

If you're familiar with AutoCAD you'll have no issues or problems moving straight into CorelCAD. :)
