Bug in CorelCAD 2016 - 2Point or 3Point options

Whenever you have the option to specify 2 points or 3 points (2Point3Point) you should have to type "2p"  or "3p" but it will use the 2 point or 3 point option by simply typing "2" or "3".

This is a problem if you are trying to enter a value of 2 or 3 and it then asks you to select points.

Here is an example when trying to draw a 3D box with height of 2:

:
:
:
Options: Center or
Specify first corner of box» 0,0
Options: Cube, Length or
Specify other corner» 10,5
Options: 2Point or
Specify height» 2
Specify first point»
Invalid point.

I guess a workaround would be to specify a height of 2.0 but I think this is a bug.

I had another occasion where I wanted to specify a value of 3 but it selected the 3Point option instead. I just can't remember which command I was using.

Hope this makes sense

Thanks, John

  • Hi John,

that's a valid issue. This is reproducible and has been provided to the development team for being fixed in a future update.

For now the only workaround is as you say: Enter values "2" or "3" with decimal digits ("2.0") to avoid the function jumping into 2Point or 3Point option.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention!

    Best regards,
    Klaus
