Note: (Instructions for X7 are in parentheses).
If you have both CorelDraw Graphics Suite X5 and CDGS X6 installed (or X6 and X7), it is recommended to have the X6 (X7)shell extension. In Windows Control Panel, check to see which shell extension is installed. You should see 16.0... (or 17.0...) in the Version column.
If you do not see the version 16 shell extension (or X7 version), you may need to install it, or do Repair from the DVD. See this knowledge base article.
If you have version 16 (17) then do this... 1. Right click any .cdr file and click properties.
2. Under General Tab, click Change button...
3. In the new dialog that opens up, you'll see all CorelDRAW program icons (depending on CDGS versions you have installed). Select X6 CorelDRAW version (or X7 CorelDRAW version). Click OK and close all dialog boxes.
4. You may need to repeat the steps for Photo-Paint files, choosing the X6 (or X7) version of Photo-Paint.
