Don't want CDR thumbnails. How do i turn these off?

I see many threads regarding the lack of thumbnails and questions about how to turn them back on.

But my problem is the opposite. I see thumbnails in Windows Explorer and on the desktop but I don't want them.

How do I turn them off? It's a windows setting, isn't it? and not a Coreldraw setting, right?

I'm using X7 on W8.1

Answer: go to control panel > folder options and then turn ON this option:

Sorry, but that does NOT turn off the .CDR thumbnails on the desktop -- only in Windows Explorer

Uninstall the shell extension in control panels
