SystemPrinters.Item property

Returns the specified printer

Syntax:

Property Get Item(ByVal nIndex As Long) As Printer

Parameters:

Name	Type	Description
nIndex	Long	Specifies the printer by index number

Remarks:

The Item property returns a read-only Printer value, which specifies a printer in the SystemPrinters collection.

Item is the default property of the SystemPrinters class, and it can be omitted when you are accessing an items in the collection. For example, Printers.Item(2) is the same as Printers(2) - they both reference the second printer in the SystemPrinters collection.

The following VBA example lists the printers installed on the system.

  Dim intCounter As Integer
  Dim Prn As Printer
  Dim s As String
  For intCounter = 1 To Printers.Count
    Set Prn = Printers(intCounter)
    s = s & Prn.Name & vbCr
  Next intCounter
