Hey guys,
i've been trying my luck to understand the basics about how custom tools or usercontrols can be added.
The tutorial found here: https://community.coreldraw.com/sdk/w/articles/172/creating-custom-tools-in-coreldraw-and-corel-designer
is very well documented, but for some reason i can't get the added tool to start. It's just unresponsive and clicking on it won't actually fire the OnStartState Method/Event.
Does anyone have an idea what i'm missing here? Thanks in advance.
I'm afraid that without attaching (in a way) your project it is not possible for anybody to understand what has been wrongly done...
A exemple
code: https://github.com/bonus630/SelectByWay
demo:
Hi Bonus,
I followed the link and I tried the project but I have something unclear...
Isn't the custom tool imported from AppUI.xslt and UserUI.xslt files?
If yes, isn't it necessary to have a post-build event running a script to copy those (plus .dll, .addon) files in a Corel addon foldere named 'SelectByWay'?
If not, how is the tool defined in Corel?
Thanks!
Thanks for the reply!
I didn't think it was nessessary to add the project as i literally just tried to get the custom tool to work that comes out of the box when creating a new Visual Studio Project (VS 2015) with the Corel Draw Addon Extension SDK found online.
The only weird thing in the process i encountered was, that the template selector can't find any of the Corel Draw Versions that i have installed (licenced CorelDRAW Grahpics Suite 2018 SE (32bit), and Graphics Suit 2019 test-version (64bit))
Screen:
Even tho i'm unable to debug i can still use the Corel.Interop.VGCore assembly to create addons.
Anyway, i uploaded the TutorialProject that refuses to work:
ToolTutorialProject.zip
Hopefully that may shed some more light on it.
Thanks guys!
I'll check it out, thanks! :) (The YT Vid seems to be down)
I posted more infos to my problem above.
